v 1.0 — February 2020 Altanium Matrix5
178 Enable an I/O Option
13.1.1 Enable an I/O Option
The system comes standard with the ability to configure up to four I/O heats options. If an
option package is included with the system, the options must be enabled. The system only
lets you enable the number of purchased options. To enable a different option when the
system is at the purchase limit, disable one of the options and then enable a different option.
To enable an option, touch the In Use check box for the option. A checkmark shows if the
option is on.
To disable an option, touch the checkmark in the In Use check box to clear it.
13.1.2 Safety Signals (UltraSync-E or Altanium Servo Control Installed)
The safety signals are monitored to make sure the system does not continue to operate in an
unsafe condition. These are locked signals, so you cannot modify the name, invert the signal,
or force the signal.
These signals are only available when the controller is configured with UltraSync-E or
Altanium Servo Control.
Table 13-2 describes the safety signals.
13.1.3 Digital Inputs
If your Matrix5 system operates an UltraSync-E, Valve Gate Sequencer, or some other Husky
injection product, one or more tabs will show to configure the inputs from those products.
Refer to the user guide for that product for information about the digital input signals.
The Heats tabs (Heats Page 1 and Heats Page 2) show screens with the digital inputs from the
IMM that are related to heats operation. Refer to Figure 13-1.
Table 13-2 Safety Signals

safety gates are closed. If an IMM safety gate is open, the indicator would
not be illuminated.
