v 1.0 — February 2020 Altanium Matrix5
76 Optional Priority Control Mode (PCM) Digital Output
set by how critical the zone is to the mold. Usually the cavities are set to Zone mode, and the
manifolds are set to System mode. The default is System mode for all zones.
The PCM can also be set to Stage mode. In an Abort condition when Stage mode has been
selected, the zones do a shutdown with a slow decrease of the temperature and power in 1
to 4 stages. The shutdown stages are configured on the Staging screen.
To change the PCM for a zone, do the steps that follow:
1. Touch the zone to be changed.
2. Touch the Advanced Settings drop-down tab.
3. Touch the PCM - Priority Control Mode field.
4. Select Zone, System, or Stage in the PCM - Priority Control Mode dialog window.
NOTE: To select Stage mode, the Staged Shutdown must be enabled on the Staging screen.
Optional Priority Control Mode (PCM) Digital Output
If the PCM digital output option is turned on, it will be activated only when a zone that is set
to System mode has an abort condition. It will stay in this state until the PCM error is reset.
7.6.11 Change the Earth Leakage Check
When started, the Altanium does a check of the earth leakage conditions on every heater in
the mold. When necessary, the system will start a low voltage, phase angle bake out on the
faulty zone(s) to try to bake the moisture out of the heater(s).
The Earth Leakage Check can be set to ON or OFF for the each zone. The default is ON for all
zones. You would have the Earth Leakage Check set to OFF only in special conditions. To
change the Earth Leakage Check to OFF globally for the full system, please contact the
nearest Husky Regional Service and Sales office.
7.6.12 Change the Automatic Manual Control
If there is a thermocouple malfunction during an operation, the Altanium can automatically
apply a manual power output percentage to the heater, calculated from the data information
collected before the thermocouple failed. This feature is the Automatic Manual Control
(AMC).
If a thermocouple fails and the AMC is set to ON, the control changes the failed zone to
Manual mode and sets a manual power output, calculated from the previously recorded
average power output to that heater. If the AMC is set to OFF, the control changes to PCM
and does the designated task. The default setting is ON for all zones.
To change the AMC setting for a zone, do the steps that follow:
1. Touch the zone to be changed.
2. Touch the Advanced Settings drop-down tab.
3. Touch the AMC - Automatic Manual Control field.
4. Select On or Off in the AMC - Automatic Manual Control dialog window.
