3. Touch the Control Mode field.
4. Select PID in the Control Mode dialog window.
5. One selection at a time, touch the fields that contain the values for the P, I, and D
parameters.
6. Type the new values for the P, I, and D parameters, and then touch the Accept button.
7. If necessary, do the previous two steps again to adjust the other PID parameters.
7.7 Active Reasoning Technology (ART)
Active Reasoning Technology (ART) is the science that applies microprocessor-based control
systems to automatic system decisions. It is a control method directed at an active or
continuous learning process, which is tolerant to faulty functions and incorrect operation by
intentionally preventing the incorrect operation or failure.
Active Reasoning software, combined with integrated hardware, disseminates information
and makes better process decisions than any modular single input, single output controller.
The ability of all zones to interact with each other and understand the effects of that
interaction is important. Complete automatic control is one benefit. During the Altanium
startup, the control looks at each zone and then looks at comparisons of all zones and finds
any interaction between them. It tests for earth leakages in each zone and as a whole. It then
makes the necessary bake out and soft start routines to do an even and correct heat of the
mold.
7.7.1 ART Process Screen
The ART Process screen is used to start the Active Reasoning Technology self-tuning process
and monitor its progress. Refer to Figure 7-11.
This screen shows automatically after you touch Start if one or more zones in the current
loaded mold setup has not completed the ART process. The process can be manually started
for zones that the system sensed are not controlled correctly.
When ART is in operation, the system cannot be changed with the Start, Standby, or Boost
buttons. Touch the Cancel Art button to go back to usual operation or touch the Stop
button to cancel the ART process and stop the controller. Navigation is disabled until the ART
process completes. Zones the have not completed the ART process will go through the
process again the next time the system is started.
Descriptions for the ART Process screen are given in Table 7-15, Table 7-16, and Table 7-17.
