1.4.3 Commissioning the Interconnection with the BRAS
This topic describes how to check whether the MA5600T/MA5603T/MA5608T can normally
communicate with the BRAS. Working with the BRAS, the MA5600T/MA5603T/MA5608T
can implement the authentication, accounting, and authorization (AAA) service.
Service Requirements
In the network as shown in Figure 1-72, the service requirements are as follows:
l The MA5600T/MA5603T/MA5608T uses the GIU board for upstream transmission.
l A static route is configured on the MA5600T/MA5603T/MA5608T for communicating
with the BRAS.
l The requirements on the BRAS are as follows:
– According to the authentication and accounting requirements for the users, you need to
perform related configurations on the BRAS. For example, configure the access user
domain (including the authentication scheme, accounting scheme, and authorization
scheme that are bound to the domain) and specify the RADIUS server.
– If the BRAS is used to authenticate users, you need to configure the user name and the
password for each user on the BRAS. If the BRAS is used to allocate IP addresses, you
must configure the corresponding IP address pool on the BRAS.
