10 FTTD Configuration
About This Chapter
This section describes the configurations of Internet access, voice, and video services in fiber
to the door (FTTD) networking scenarios.
Context
In FTTD networking scenarios, optical network units (ONUs) connect to user homes through
twisted pairs. The ONUs can be installed in shafts or garages, or mounted to courtyard walls.
10.1 FTTD Service Overview
This topic describes FTTD service from basic concepts, network scenarios, typical
configurations, and ONU capability sets to provide necessary background information for FTTD
service configuration in different scenarios.
10.2 Basic Concepts
This section describes basic concepts related to the fiber to the home (FTTD) solution from the
user side to the network side on FTTD networking using PON and P2P upstream transmission,
respectively.
10.3 Networking Scenarios and Hardware Configurations (GPON)
This section describes GPON fiber to the door (FTTD) networking scenarios and typical optical
line terminal (OLT) and optical network unit (ONU) hardware configurations.
10.4 Reference of GPON ONU Capability Sets
This section provides common Huawei GPON optical network unit (ONU) capability sets,
serving as a reference for parameter configuration when an ONU is added offline.
10.5 Principle of FTTD Data Plan
10.6 GPON Access: Configuring FTTD Service
This topic describes how to configure the Internet access service, voice service, BTV service
and VoD service in GPON access mode in FTTD network scenario.
