You can use Category 3, 4, or 5 cabling when connecting to 10BASE-T-
compatible devices. You must use Category 5 cabling when connecting to
100BASE-TX-compatible devices.

Dual-purpose Ports (combo ports)
The Ethernet port on a dual-purpose port uses standard RJ45 connectors. The
following figure shows the pinouts.

The SFP module slot on a dual-purpose port uses SFP modules for fiber-optic
ports. The auto-MDIX feature is enabled by default.
IMPORTANT Use a four twisted-pair, Category 5 cable when connecting to a 1000BASE-T-
compatible device or PoE port.
