UNIT REPAIR OVERHAUL
ENGINE ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Remove engine hood after disconnecting windshield washer
hose.
3) Remove TP sensor (Accelerator stroke sensor) and intake air
pressure sensor, then remove strut tower bar (1).
4) Drain cooling system.
5) Remove degassing tank and radiator with radiator fan motor as-
sembly.
Refer to “ENGINE COOLING” section.
6) Remove air cleaner outlet hose.
7) Remove intercooler.
8) Remove transmission assembly referring to Section 7A or 7B.
9) Disconnect following electric wires:
D Intake air pressure sensor (1)
D Camshaft position sensor (2)
D Fuel pressure regulator (3)
D Glow plug supply wire at the connector
D Engine coolant temp. sensor (4)
D Fuel pressure sensor (5) wire at the connector
D Fuel injectors (6)
D Fuel temp. sensor (7)
D Injection pump solenoid valve (8)
D Generator
D Engine oil pressure switch
D Double relay (9)
D Pre post heating control unit (10)
and then release wire harnesses from clamps.
