CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
(ENGINE SPEED SENSOR)
REMOVAL
1) Remove battery.
2) Disconnect connector from crankshaft position sensor.
3) Remove crankshaft position sensor (1) from transmission case.
INSPECTION
D Verify that resistance between terminals of CKP sensor is within
specification.
Resistance: 315 – 405 Ω
If not as specified, replace CKP sensor.
D Check to make sure that crankshaft position sensor (1) and sen-
sor rotor tooth (2) is free from any metal particles and damage.
INSTALLATION
1) Install crankshaft position sensor to transmission case.
CAUTION:
Be sure to tighten to specified torque, CKP sensor will be
deformed if over tightened and correct CKP sensor sig-
nal will not be fed if loosened.
2) Connect connector to it securely.
3) Install battery.
