7.5 Password Protection
This dialog box appears at system start-up and is used to enter a User Password. Two levels of user access are supported:
• Access Level 0 = General User Access (Enable, Disable, and Monitor a Drive).
• Access Level 1 = Privileged User Access (Drive Tuning and Configuration plus all Access Level 0 privileges).
If a valid User Password is not accepted by the servo-drive, Access Level 0 will be invoked by default. At this level,
changes to configuration and tuning parameters are not allowed.

The Password must be a number between 0 and 9999 and is set to 0 when the MOOG WinDrive compatible servo-drive
software is shipped. If password protection is not desired, this value should not be changed (just enter 0 and select OK).
If password protection is desired, the User password should be changed via the Password Change dialog box and saved
to EEPROM (under the File menu). Once saved to EEPROM this password MUST BE KNOWN AND
REMEMBERED by each User requiring configuration and tuning access (Access Level 1) for a specific servo-drive.
If the saved password is forgotten, a MOOG Application Engineer must be called to reset the saved User Password to a
known value.
NOTE - In off-line mode, the password capability is disabled and the Password dialog box
does not appear at start-up.

NOTE: Access Level 1, Privileged User Access shall be restricted to technically
qualified service and maintenance persons only.
NOTE - If the Changed Password is not saved to EEPROM using Save To EEPROM in the File
Menu, it will only be valid while power to the servo-drive is maintained.
