SECTION 10: TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE T200 User's Manual
PAGE 10-27
10.6.2 Problem: T200 is Enabled, but will not move the Axis
The motor cannot move the axis, though the T200 is already applying high voltage to the motor.
Table 26: Causes of T200 not moving
Cause Check/[Correction]
Command Source
set to 0
The T200 command source is not commanding a movement!
Check:
Analogue command voltage wiring to REF+ and REF- is intact.
Voltages between REF+ and REF- on J1 are non-zero.
If using a function generator that the acceleration, velocity, torque and/or position
commands are non-zero.
If using CAN, Stepper Interface that the master control computer commands a
movement.
If using the Digital Inputs Reference, that the Reference Velocities have been set-up.
Limit Switches
activated
See Section Warning Type: U8 (Limit Switches Warning) on 7-segment Display
Brake Applied
The T200 brake is released only if the BRK_IP digital input is activated. If the CAN
Reference Source is used, the CAN software MUST also be commanded through the CAN
interface to release the brake.
[Release the brake by activation of the BRK_IP input on J1.
If a CAN system then release the brake via the master control computer.]
Torque Limits Too
Low
The user may have programmed too low torque limits to overcome static friction and load
stiffness (stiction). Check the present power mode of the T200 using the WinDrive, Drive,
Drive Status menu to see if the AUTO_MAN input box is ticked. (If the AUTO_MAN
input box is ticked, then the T200 is in Automatic mode). Check the Limits, Manual Mode
Disable tick-box to check if Manual Mode has been disabled.
[If safe to do so, then the user can disable Manual Mode. Alternatively he can activate the
AUTO-MAN mode such that the T200 is placed in Automatic Mode.
The Torque and Velocity Limits in the Limits dialog box should be increased if it is safe to
do so.]
Motor is
Disconnected
The motor is not connected at all to the T200.
[DISABLE the T200. Remove all power from the T200 and wait 5 minutes before
attempting re-connection. Reconnect the motor power cable to TB8. Re-apply power to
the T200. Re-enable and try again to move the axis.]
Fault Present
Faults are present. Check the 7-segment display for indication of the faults.
[Correct the fault and try to re-enable.]
