SECTION 3: WIRING AND INSTALLATION T200 User's Manual
PAGE 3-11
3.1.3 Serial Set-up Terminal (User-Supplied)
An RS-232 interface should be established for individual servo-drive communications, using a user supplied IBM
compatible service computer (PC) or a Hand Held Terminal (HHT). The IBM PC can run either a Terminal Emulation
program (e.g. Windows 95 HyperTerminal) or Moog's WinDrive Windows-based user-interface program.
For multi-drop communications of up to thirty (30) T200 Servo-drives, an RS-485 interface should be used. See Section
3.18.2.2 RS485 Adaptor for Conversion of RS232 to RS485, for further information.
3.1.4 Control-Backup Power Input (User Supplied)
The T200 requires a control power source to supply backup-power for the control electronics. This control-backup
power is useful where the user requires that the T200 does not loose absolute position data or status information when
a.c. mains power is removed from the T200. There are two possibilities for this control-backup supply
24Vd.c. Control-Backup Power Supply OR
120Va.c. Control-Backup Mains Supply
The user is directed to the local Moog sales office or authorised distributor for a recommended list of these control
power source devices.
3.1.4.1 24 Vd.c. Control-Backup Power Supply
The 24 Vd.c. control power option allows high voltage motor power to be removed from a T200 Series Servo-drive
without losing control power.
The acceptable voltage range for this supply is 18 to 36 Vd.c. with a minimum current rating of 2.0 Ad.c. per T200
Series Servo-drive connected. A low cost unregulated d.c. supply is adequate. However the instantaneous voltage
should never drop below 17.5Vd.c., (including ripple).
NOTE - The 24 V d.c. power supply must be compliant with the
requirements of the EU EMC Directive. The 24 V d.c. voltage output
from the power supply must be Safety Extra Low Voltage ( SELV - as
defined by European standard EN 60950 ).
Required for
CE-Compliance
The hand held service terminal or personal computer are service
engineer tools only and must be installed so that use of the key
sequences which allow control of the machine functions is accessible to
authorised qualified service personnel only. All such hand held service
terminals or service set-up computers must be CE -marked as
compliant with the EU EMC Directive.

CE-Compliance
