3.1.1.1 Single-Phase Mains Connection
The T200-310/410/510 can operate with single phase a.c. mains voltage sources from 120Va.c. to 230Va.c.. Note that
the input power must be linearly de-rated for mains voltages lower than 230Va.c., as shown in Table 3.1. The T200
does not require an input isolation transformer for single-phase operation, for Low Voltage Directive Compliance.
• Table 3.1 gives an overview of the T200 in single-phase operation (230 Va.c. and 120Va.c.).

3.1.1.2 Three Phase Mains Connection
For three-phase operation it is usually required that a voltage-matching transformer is installed as part of the total
system. The transformer serves the following functions:
1. Matching the mains supply line voltage to the required power supply input voltage.
2. Limiting available short circuit fault current to be within the interrupting rating of the a.c. input circuit breaker.
Transformers should be installed in a clean, dry, enclosed environment. Maximum ambient temperature should not
exceed 60°C (140°F).
NOTE - The T200 is designed to allow direct a.c. off-line operation from a 230 Va.c. (Vr.m.s) 50/60 Hz
three phase source capable of delivering not more than 5000 RMS (r.m.s.) symmetrical amperes. A 3
Phase step down transformer is typically used to drop the size of the a.c. mains voltage to 230Va.c.,
though the step down transformer is not needed if the a.c. mains magnitude is already 230Va.c.. The
transformer should be chosen by the user such that its KVA rating covers the maximum power
requirement of the application. If in doubt as to the application power requirements, a 7.5 KVA
minimum rating is recommended for use with a T200-310, -410 or -510, and a 15 KVA minimum
rating is recommended for use with a T200-610 or -710.
