Exhaust System: 1K-3
Exhaust Pipe / Muffler Removal and Installation

Removal
1) Loosen the muffler connecting bolts (1).
2) Remove the muffler (2) by removing the mounting
bolt (3) and nut.
NOTE
Support the muffler to prevent it from falling.
3) Remove the radiator. Refer to “Radiator / Cooling
Fan Motor Removal and Installation in Section 1F
(Page 1F-5)”.
4) Disconnect the HO2 sensor coupler (4) and clamps.
Refer to “Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Removal
and Installation in Section 1B (Page 1B-5)”.
5) Remove the exhaust pipe (5) by removing the
exhaust pipe bolts and mounting bolt (6).
NOTE
Support the exhaust pipe to prevent it from
falling.
6) Remove the HO2 sensor (7) from the exhaust pipe.
CAUTION
!
Be careful not to expose it to excessive
shock.
Be careful not to twist or damage the
sensor lead wire.
