3.1.2.1 Zone setting Zone Status
The P442 and P444 relays have 6 zones of phase or earth fault protection, as shown in the
impedance plots below. The fault protections are completed by a tilt characteristic (tilt angle).
The following impedance plot shows the phase fault characteristics:

Note: 1. Z1 (zone 1) is programmed in ohm/loop.
R limit setting is in ohms loop and Z limit setting is in ohms phase.
2. In a
/phase scheme, R must be divided by 2 (for a phase/phase
diagram).
3. The angle of the start element (Quad) is the angle of the positive
impedance of the line (settable)
4. TILT angle protection is only applied with conventional protection
