INITIAL
ENGAGEMENT AND CLUTCH
LOCK-UP
INSPECTION
The
LT-A500F
is
equipped
with
a
centrifugal type automatic
clutch.
To insure proper performance
and
longevity
of the
clutch
assemblies
it is
essential that
the
clutches
engage
smoothly
and gradually. Before checking
the
initial
engagement
and
clutch
lock-up
two
inspection checks must
be
performed
to
thoroughly check the operation
of
the drive
train.
Perform
the
following:
•
Check the oil level.

•
Warm
up the engine.
INITIAL
ENGAGEMENT INSPECTION
•
Connect the tachometer onto the spark plug lead.
•
Start the engine.
•
Shift the range lever to the "High" position.
•
Slowly
open
the
throttle
and
note
the
engine speed (r/min)
when the vehicle begins to
move
forward.

If
the engagement speed
does
not coincide
with
the standard
range, inspect the following items for any abnormalities.
