CLUTCH
LOCK-UP INSPECTION
Perform this inspection
to
determine
if
the clutch
is
engaging
fully
and not slipping.
•
Connect
a
tachometer onto the spark plug lead.
•
Start the engine.
•
Shift the range lever to the "High" position.
•
Apply the front and rear brakes as firmly as possible.
•
Fully open the
throttle
for
a
brief period and note the maxi-
mum engine speed sustained during the
test
cycle.

speed:
3 300-3 900
r/min
A CAUTION
Do not apply full power for more than 10
seconds
or
damage to the clutch or engine may occur.
If
the lock-up speed (r/min) does not coincide
with
the standard
range, inspect the following items for any abnormalities.
