3. Adjust:
● Throttle cable free play
NOTE:
When the throttle is opened, the accelerator ca-
ble “1” is pulled.

Throttle body side
a. Loosen the locknut “1” on the decelerator ca-
ble.
b. Loosen the locknut “2” on the accelerator ca-
ble.
c. Turn the adjusting nut “3” in direction “a” or
“b” until the specified throttle cable free play
is obtained.
d. Tighten the locknuts “1”, “3”.
NOTE:
If the specified throttle cable free play cannot be
obtained on the throttle body side of the cable,
use the adjusting nut on the handlebar side.

Handlebar side
a. Loosen the locknut “1”.
b. Turn the adjusting nut “2” in direction “a” or
“b” until the specified throttle cable free play
is obtained.
c. Tighten the locknut “1”.
d. Slide the rubber cover to its original position.

After adjusting the throttle cable free play,
turn the handle bar to the right and to the left
to ensure that this does not cause the engine
idling speed to change.

4. Install:
● Left side cover
● Center cover

CHECKING THE SPARK PLUGS
The following procedure applies to all of the
spark plugs.
1. Remove:
● Center cover
● Side cover (left and right)
● inner fender
Refer to “GENERAL CHASSIS” on page 4-1.
2. Disconnect:
● Spark plug cap
3. Remove:
● Spark plug
CAUTION:
ECA13320
Before removing the spark plugs, blow away
any dirt accumulated in the spark plug wells
with compressed air to prevent it from falling
Direction “a”
Throttle cable free play is increased.
Direction “b”
Throttle cable free play is decreased.
