CHECKING THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES
The following procedure applies to all of the
brake hoses and brake hose clamps.
1. Check:
● Brake hose
Cracks/damage/wear → Replace.
2. Check:
● Brake hose clamp
Loose → Tighten the clamp bolt.
3. Hold the vehicle upright and apply the brake
several times.
4. Check:
● Brake hose
Brake fluid leakage → Replace the damaged
hose.

CHECKING THE REAR BRAKE HOSE
1. Check:
● Brake hose
Cracks/damage/wear → Replace.
2. Check:
● Brake hose clamp
Loose Connection → Tighten the clamp bolt.
3. Hold the vehicle upright and apply the front
brake several times.
4. Check:
● Brake hose
Brake fluid leakage → Replace the damaged
hose.

ADJUSTING THE REAR BRAKE LOCK
LEVER CABLE

Do not apply the rear brake lock lever when
riding.
NOTE:
● Place the vehicle on a suitable stand.
● Before adjusting the rear brake lock lever,
check the rear brake fluid level.
1. Measure:
● Rear brake lock lever cable length “a”
Out of specification → Adjust.
2. Adjust:
● Rear brake lock lever cable length
▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼
a. Turn the adjusting nut “1” in direction “b” or “c”
until the rear brake lock lever cable length “a”
is 42–44 mm (1.65–1.73 in) when the rear
brake lock lever is released.
b. Slowly apply the rear brake several times.
c. Set the rear brake lock lever and wait more
than “5” minutes.
d. Release the rear brake lock lever.
e. Turn the adjusting nut “1” in direction “b” or “c”
until the rear brake lock lever cable length “a”
is 45–47 mm (1.77–1.85 in).
