Specify the interface for which the authentication method is to be configured.

The Authentication Method page displays.

Specify the Authentication Type (None, Simple, or Encrypt) from the drop-down menu.

If you specify Simple or Encrypt as the Authentication Type, additional fields appear. Enter the
Authentication Key (Simple or Encrypt) and Authentication Key ID (Encrypt).

Click
Apply Changes

The authentication method is updated, and the device is updated.

Use the RIP Interface Summary
page to display RIP configuration status on an interface.
To display the page, click Routing

CLI Command Description
ip rip Enables RIP on a router interface.
ip rip authentication Sets the RIP Version 2 Authentication Type and Key for the specified
interface.
ip rip receive version Configures the interface to allow RIP control packets of the specified
version(s) to be received.
ip rip send version Configures the interface to allow RIP control packets of the specified
version to be sent.
show ip rip interface Displays information related to a particular RIP interface.
