Eachvehiclehasapasswordintheformofauniquesetofcodesusedtoplacethevehiclein“privatespeedmode”.
Ifasetofcodeshasbeenenteredincorrectly,theincorrectpasswordfaultisdeclared.Foradditionalinformation

MAXPASSWORDTRIES(OEMACCESSLEVELONLY)
Themaxpasswordtriesfaultisdeclaredwhentheincorrectpasswordfaulthasbeendeclaredseveraltimes.Inthe
eventthatthemaxpasswordtriesfaultisindicated,thespeedcontrollermustberemovedandshippedtoClubCar
beforeitcaneverbeplacedin“privatespeedmode”.SeeCodeA,CodeB,andCodeConpage11-8.Seealso

THROTTLEFAULT
IftheMCOR(MotorControllerOutputRegulator)voltageislessthan0.20voltsorgreaterthan4.80volts,the
controllerdetectsathrottlefault.
Whatitmeans:IfthevoltageseenbythecontrollercomingoutoftheMCORisnotwithinspeciedlimits,thisfault
occursandthecontrollerde-energizesthesolenoidcoil.Performadditionaldiagnosticifvehicleisrunning.
Whattodo:ReplaceMCOR.SeefollowingNOTE.
NOTE:Newercontrollersmay,infrequently,readvoltagesaboveorbelowlimitsandgiveafalsefault.
LOWBATTERYVOLTAGE(UNDERVOLTAGE)
Ifthebatteryvoltagefallsbelow34volts±5%,thelowbatteryvoltagefaultisdetectedbythespeedcontroller.
Whatitmeans:Couldbeasymptom,notacause.Voltagecomingintothecontrollerisat,orlessthan,34volts.
Whattodo:Checkbatteryvoltageunderaload.
OVERVOLTAGE
Ifthespeedcontrollerdetectsthatthebatteryvoltageistoohigh(68.4to75.6voltsDC),theovervoltagefault
isdetected.
Whatitmeans:Thisisasymptomthatoccurswhenthecontrollersees72ormorevolts.ReverseBuzzerbeeps
whenfaultoccursandthecarwillfreewheel.
Whattodo:Checktoseeifcarhasbeentowedwithoutbeingputinto“T ow”mode.Checkchargerrelaybecause,
inExcelvehicles,bypassingtherelayinthechargercouldcausethecontrollertoreadanovervoltagefault.Note
toothatExcelvehicles,onhillycourses,mayseethisfaultifthedriverturnsthekeyswitchoffwhilethevehicleis
inmotorbrakingmode.
