GENERALINFORMATION
Thevehicleisequippedwithahighimpact,plasticfueltank.
WARNING
•Ifthefueltankisdamaged,replaceit.Donotattempttorepairit.Seethefollowingtankremoval
anddisposalprocedure.

•Addonlyunleadedfueltothetank.Donotputoilinthefueltank.
NOTE:ThisgasolinevehiclecomplieswiththeCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)andEPAevaporative
emissionsregulationswhenequippedwithSAEJ30R91/4in(6.3mm)fuelventhoseand3/16in(4.78mm)
fuelventhose.ToremainincompliancewithCaliforniaandEPAregulations,replaceanyfuelventhoseon
thisvehiclewithClubCarfuelventhosesorequivalent.
FUELTANKREMOVAL
1.PlacetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALposition,chockthewheels,andtheneutrallockoutswitchin
theMAINTENANCEposition.
2.TurnkeyswitchtoOFFpositionandremovekey.
3.Disconnectbattery.

4.Cleanthetopofthefueltank(10)andfuelpumpmodule(1)(Figure21-15,Page21-22).
5.Removegascapandsiphonallfuelfromtankintoanapprovedcontainer.SeefollowingDANGERand

•Gasoline–Flammable!Explosive!Donotsmoke.Keepsparksandamesawayfromthevehicleand
servicearea.Serviceonlyinawell-ventilatedarea.
WARNING
•Donotattempttosiphonfuelusingahosethatdoesnothaveabuilt-insuctiondevice.
•Donotattempttosiphonfuelusingyourmouth.
6.Disconnectwireharnessplug(2)fromfuelpumpmodule(1).
7.Disconnectventhosefromfueltankvent(11).
8.Disconnectthefuelline(3)fromthefuelpumpmodule(1)anddrainintoanappropriatecontainer.SeeFuelLine
