ShifterCableGASOLINEVEHICLE-TRANSAXLE
3.Pushthecableendsocket(1)offthestud(3)ontheForward/Reverseshifterhandle(Figure24-15,Page24-14).
4.Pressintangs(4)anchoringshiftercable(2)tochassisandpushoutofmountinghole.
5.Loosenjamnuts(1)securingshiftercable(2)toFNR/acceleratorcablebracket(3)(Figure24-16,Page24-14).
Then,removebowtieclip(3)todisconnectshiftercableend(4)fromtransaxleshiftlever(5).
6.Cutwiretiessecuringshiftercabletochassis.
7.Makenoteofcablerouting,thenremoveshiftercablefromvehicle.

SHIFTERCABLEINSTALLATION
1.Installshiftercable(2),routingitexactlyasitwasoriginally,fromForward/Reverseshifterhandletotransaxle.
2.Placerearofcable(2)inFNR/acceleratorcablebracketwithajamnut(1)oneachsideofbracket(Figure24-16,
Page24-14).Tightenjamnuts(1)to22ft·lb(29.8N·m).
3.Hookshiftercableend(4)intotransaxleshiftlever(5)andsecurewithbowtieclip(3).
4.Feedfrontofcable(2)throughitsmountingholeandpushtheplasticanchorintoholeuntiltangs(4)snap
intoplace(Figure24-15,Page24-14).
5.Snapcableendsocket(1)ontostud(3)ofForward/Reverseshifterhandle.
6.Secureshiftercablealongchassiswithwiretiesifrequired.
7.Connectbatteryandsparkplugwire(s).

CableisproperlyadjustedwhenboththeForward/ReversehandleandshiftleverontransaxleareintheNEUTRAL
positionatthesametime.
Toadjust,thejamnuts(6)attheFNR/acceleratorcablebracketmustbeloosenedandmovedforwardorbackwardas
required(Figure24-16,Page24-14).Tightenjamnuts(6)to22ft·lb(29.8N·m).
