WARNING
•Besureallwireconnectionsatthereceptaclearecleanandtight.
•Donotrockorbendtheplug.Toconnectthechargerplugtothevehiclereceptacle,grasptheplug
handleandpushtheplugstraightintothereceptacle(Figure15-6,Page15-10).
•DonotpullontheDCcord(Figure15-7,Page15-10).Donottwist,rockorbendtheplug.To
disconnectthechargerplugfromthevehiclereceptacle,grasptheplugbythehandleandpullthe
plugstraightoutofthereceptacle.
•Donotconnectachargertothereceptacleifthechargercord,plug,orthevehiclereceptacleis
broken,damagedinanymanner,ordoesnotmakeagoodelectricalconnection.Fireorpersonal
injurycanresult.Haveitreplacedbyaqualiedservicepersonimmediately.Failuretofollowthese
instructionscouldresultindamagetothechargercord,theplug,and(or)thevehiclereceptacle.
•Donotattempttochargefrozenbatteriesorbatterieswithbulgedcases.Discardthebatteryin
accordancewithallenvironmentallawsorreturntoanauthorizedClubCardealer.Frozenbatteries
canexplode.
•Donotuseachargerifanyofthefollowingconditionsexist:
–Theplugistoolooseordoesnotmakeagoodconnection.
–Theplugandreceptaclefeelhotterthannormalduringcharge.
–Theplugpinsorreceptaclecontactsarebentorcorroded.
–Theplug,receptacle,orcordsarecut,worn,haveanyexposedwiresoraredamagedinanyway.
•Usingthechargerwithanyoftheabovesymptomscouldresultinare,propertydamage,personal
injury,ordeath.
CAUTION
•Onallvehicles,turnoffallaccessoriesbeforechargingbatteries.
•Thebatterychargerprovidedwiththisvehicleisapprovedforuseonlywiththebatterytype
originallyshippedwiththevehicle.Usingadifferentbatterytype(differentbrand,differentcapacity,
etc.)cancauseunderoroverchargingandsubsequentbatterydamageunlessthechargerisrst
reprogrammedwithanewchargingalgorithm.ClubCaronlyrecommendsOEMreplacementbatteries.
ContactyourauthorizedClubCardealer/distributorwithanyquestionsaboutbatteryandcharger
compatibilityoralgorithmupdates.
NOTE:UnlikethePowerDrivefamilyofchargers,batterypackvoltagedoesnothavetobeabove32voltsfor
chargingtobegin.
Whentemperaturesfallbelow65°F(18.3°C),batterieschargedinunheatedareasshouldbeplacedon
chargeassoonaspossibleafteruse.Batteriesarewarmestimmediatelyafteruse,andcoldbatteries
requiremoretimetofullycharge.
Batteriesshouldbeputonchargeeveniftheyhavebeenusedforonlyashortperiod(10minutes).
