1.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey,andplacetheForward/Reversehandleinthe

NEUTRALposition.

2.Disconnectbatteryandsparkplugwire(s).

SeeDisconnectingtheBattery-GasolineVehiclesonpage1-3.

3.Placechocksatthefrontwheelsandloosenlugnutsonbothrearwheels.

4.Removetherubberdustcap(1).

5.Removeanddiscardthecotterpin(2)(Figure24-3,Page24-4).

6.Removenutlockingcap(3)andloosenthehubnut(4)ontheaxleshaft.

7.Liftandsupporttherearofvehicle.

8.Removethelugnutsandwheel.

9.Slidebrakedrumoffhub.

10.Removehubnut(4)andlargeatwasher(5)andpullhub(6)offaxleshaft.SeefollowingNOTE.

NOTE:Ifthehub(6)doesnotslideeasilyofftheaxleshaft,useatwoorfour-jawwheelpullertoremovethehub.
