Pre-OperationandDailySafetyChecklistPERIODICMAINTENANCE
WARNING
•Besuretheplastichasbeenremovedfromtheseatbottombeforeoperatingthevehicle.Failuretodo
somayresultinare,propertydamage,personalinjury,ordeath.
PERFORMANCEINSPECTION
Afteryouhavefamiliarizedyourselfwiththevehiclecontrolsandhavereadandunderstoodthedrivinginstructions,
takethevehicleforatestdrive.
UsethefollowingchecklistinconjunctionwiththeDailyPre-OperationandSafetyChecklistasaguidetoinspectthe
vehicleandcheckdailyforproperoperation.AnyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyaClubCardistributor/dealerora
trainedtechnician.
AllVehicles
•Forward/Reverseswitch:Checkforproperoperation.
•Brakes:Besurethebrakesfunctionproperly.Whenbrakepedalispressedusingmoderatepressure,the
vehicleshouldcometoasmooth,straightstop.Ifthevehicleswervesorfailstostop,stopsabruptly,ormakes
agrindingorsqueakingnoise,havethebrakesystemcheckedandadjustedasrequired.Continued,moderate
brakepedalpressureshouldbeabletolockthewheels,butusinglesserpressureshouldalsopermitaslow,
gradualdeceleration.
•Parkbrake:Whenlatched,theparkbrakeshouldlockthewheelsandholdthevehiclestationary(onaninclineof
20%orless).Itshouldreleasewheneithertheacceleratororbrakepedalispressed.
•Reversebuzzer:ThereversebuzzerwillsoundasawarningwhentheForward/Reversehandleorswitchisin
theREVERSEposition.
•Steering:Thevehicleshouldbeeasytosteerandshouldnothaveanyplayinthesteeringwheel.
•General:Listenforanyunusualnoisessuchassqueaksorrattles.Checkthevehicle’srideandperformance.
HaveaClubCardistributor/dealeroratrainedtechnicianinvestigateanythingunusual.
ElectricVehicles
•Accelerator:WiththekeyswitchintheONpositionandtheForward/ReverseswitchintheFORWARDposition,as
theacceleratorpedalispressed,themotorshouldstartandthevehicleshouldacceleratesmoothlytofullspeed.
Whenthepedalisreleaseditshouldreturntotheoriginalposition.AllClubCarvehiclesoperateatreduced
speedinreverse.
•WalkAwayBraking:Withthevehicleparkedonlevelgroundandtheparkbrakedisengaged,placetheTow/Run
switchintheRUNpositionandattempttopushthevehicle.Motorbrakingshouldengageandcauseresistanceto
rolling((movingatnomorethan1to3mph)(1.6to4.8km/h))withtheForward/Reverseswitchinanyposition.
Whenwalkawaymotorbrakingisengaged,thereversebuzzershouldemitadistinctpatternofbeeps.See
followingWARNING.
WARNING
•WalkAwayBrakingwillnotlimitvehiclespeedto3mph(4.8km/h)onverysteepgrades.Donot
operatevehicleonslopesexceeding20%grades.
•MotorBraking:Acceleratedownaninclinewiththeacceleratorpedalfullypressed.Whenthevehiclereaches
maximumprogrammedspeed,motorbrakingshouldengageandlimitthevehicletoitsmaximumprogrammed
speed.Onverysteepgrades,thevehiclemayslightlyexceeditsmaximumprogrammedspeed,requiringtheuseof
thebrakepedal.Also,traveldownhillwiththeacceleratorpedalpartiallypressed.Motorbrakingshouldlimitspeed
tolessthantopspeedandmaintainspeedsproportionaltotheacceleratorpedalposition.Onalevelsurface,
acceleratethevehicletofullspeedandthenreleasetheacceleratorpedal.Motorbrakingshouldsmoothlyslowthe
vehicletoacompletestoporelseallowthevehicletocoastfreely,dependingontheselectedcontrollersetting.
