GENERALINFORMATION
NOTE:Thischargerhasnointernalstoserviceorrepair.Itonlyhasafewexternalrepairsthatcanbeperformed.
Ifaninternalcomponentneedsrepair,thechargermustbereplaced.
Becausethechargerhasastoragechargefeaturethatautomaticallychecksandrechargesthebatteriesas
necessary,thechargercanremainpluggedtothevehiclethroughoutthestorageperiod.
KeyDifferencesbetweenERICChargersandPowerDriveChargers
•Programmableintheeldinsteadofchangingonboardcomputer(OBC).
•AbilitytofullyupdatesoftwareviaUSBashdriveorlaptopcomputerinsteadofchangingOBC.
•DV/DTchargeterminationinsteadofAmp-HourReturnedchargetermination.
•CommunicationDisplayModule(CDM)isnotused.OnlyanCDTisneededfordata.
•TheCDTwillremainONwhenthechargerisconnected.
•OnlyPD+8-voltbatteriesareapprovedforusewiththishigh-frequencychargingsystematthistime.Other
batterieshavenotbeenapproved.Whenotherbatteriesareapproved,thechargercanbeupdatedwiththe
appropriatealgorithmusingtheUSBport.
Thissectionincludesinformation,troubleshootingandserviceprocedurespertainingtotheexternalhigh-frequency
batterycharger.Donotattempttoserviceabatterychargerthathasnotbeenproperlyidentiîš¿ed.Ifachargercannot
beproperlyidentiîš¿ed,contactyourlocalClubCardealerordistributor.
