1.Installthegreenwire(1)fromtheF1terminaltotheA2terminalonthestarter/generator(Figure19-14,Page
19-13).Installaatwasher,lockwasher,andnutontoeachterminalandtightento48in·lb(5.4N·m).
2.Positionthestarter/generatoroverthemountingbracketsothattheboltswillgothroughthestarter/generator
beforegoingthroughthebracket.Installpivotbolts(5)withtheheadsoftheboltsfacingasshown(Figure
19-13,Page19-12).Installlocknuts(7)nger-tight.
3.Installtheadjustmentbolt(1)throughtheadjustingbracket(3)andthenthroughthestarter/generator.Installa
lockwasher(6)andnut(4)ontoadjustmentbolt(1)nger-tight(Figure19-13,Page19-12).
4.Installstarter/generatorbelt(2)andadjustbelttensionasinstructed.
5.Connecttheyellowwire(2)fromthevoltageregulatortotheDFterminalonthestarter/generator(Figure19-14,
Page19-13).Installaatwasher,lockwasher,andnutontotheterminal.Tightenthenutto31in·lb(3.5N·m).
6.Installthewhitewire(3)fromthesolenoidtotheF2terminalonthestarter/generator(Figure19-14,Page19-13).
Installtheblackwire(4)fromtheframetotheA1terminalonthestarter/generator.Installaatwasher,lock
washerandnutontoeachterminal,andtightenthenutto48in·lb(5.4N·m).
7.Connectbatteryandsparkplugwire(s).SeeConnectingtheBattery-GasolineVehiclesonpage1-3.
