TESTPROCEDURES
Usingthefollowingprocedures,theentireelectricalsystemcanbetestedwithoutmajordisassemblyofthevehicle.
WARNING
•Ifwiresareremovedorreplaced,makesurewiringandwireharnessisproperlyroutedandsecured.
Failuretoproperlyrouteandsecurewiringcouldresultinvehiclemalfunction,propertydamage,
personalinjury,ordeath.
Formanytests,theelectronicsmodulecovermustberemovedtogainaccesstothevariouscomponentsthatare
mountedonthecomponentmountingplate.SeeElectronicsModuleCoveronpage13-5.SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
•Shortingofbatteryterminalscancausepersonalinjuryordeath.
–Donotplacecomponentmountingplatedirectlyontopofbatterieswhenremovingorinstalling
plate.
–Removeplatefromvehiclecompletely.

TESTINGBASICS
•TousetheCDT,theT ow/RunswitchmustbeintheRUNposition.TheT ow/Runswitchprovidespowertothelogic
boardandpowerboardinsidethecontroller.
•BatteryPackVoltage(BPV)willbereferencedthroughoutthetestprocedures.BPVisaccessedinTestProcedure
1–Batteries/VoltageCheck(BPV)onpage12-12.
•TheTow/Runswitchpowersthekeyswitch,controller,Forward/Reverseswitch,15-ampfuse,andreversebuzzer.
•ThekeyswitchpowerstheMCOR2-pincircuit,Forward/Reverseswitch,solenoid,andthefemalebulletconnector
(W34shownon.
•TheMCOR3-pincircuit,motorspeedsensorcircuit,thecommunicationpointforthecardevice(white/blackwire
inposition13ofthe16pinconnector),andchargeindicatorlightispoweredbythecontroller(withTow/Run
switchinRUN).
•The2-ampfuseispowereddirectlybythebatteriesviathesolenoidandcarriesBPVtotheconnectedcar
device.Noswitchisinvolved.
•Theterm“back-probe”referstoprobingthesideofaconnectorthatthewireenters.Thisisusuallydonewhenthe
connectormustremainconnectedtoadevice.SeefollowingCAUTION.
