PEDALGROUPINSTALLATION
1.Connecttheendoftheacceleratorcabletothepedalgroup(Figure5-4,Page5-5).SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
•Makesuretheacceleratorcableisproperlyseatedtothepedalgroup.
2.Connectthewireharness(12)tothethrottlepositionsensor(Figure5-4,Page5-5).
3.Positionthepedalgroupinvehicleandsecurewithtwoscrews(2)onthedriversideandtwoscrews(1)onthe
passengerside.Tightendriversidescrews(2)to97in·lb(11N·m).Tightenpassengersidescrews(1)to
18in·lb(2N·m).
4.Removetheturnbuckle(6)andapplyLoctite
®
242tothethreadedendsofboththerodfromthepedalgroup(8)
andthebrakeactuatorrod(9).Connecttherodsusingtheturnbuckle(6).Ensuretheendsofthebrakecablesdo
notslipoutofthebrakeequalizerduringthisprocedure.
5.Adjustthebrakecableequalizertension.SeeBrakeCableEqualizerAdjustmentonpage6-8.
6.Placeoorcoverplate(7)overtheooropeningandsecurewithfastener(10)(Figure5-4,Page5-5).
7.Installtheoormat(2)overthepedalgroup.Makesuretabsonoormatsidesarebeneaththesill(3).Tighten
screws(1)to53in·lb(6N·m)(Figure5-3,Page5-4).
8.Connectbatteryandsparkplugwire(s).

DEBRISSHIELDS
Debrisshieldsonthetopfaceofthepedalgrouppreventexcessivedebrisfromcontactingthemovingpartsof
thepedalgroup.Bothshields(4and5)areheldinplacebytabsthatsnapintothepedalgroupmountingplate
(Figure5-5,Page5-8).

1.Removepedalgroupfromvehicle.SeePedalGroupRemovalonpage5-1.SeePedalGroupRemoval

acceleratorpedalassemblythroughbottomofpedalgroupmountingplate.
