•Unplugfuelpumpmoduleatfueltankandcrankenginefor5secondstostartreducingfuelpressure.Pauseand
repeatanadditional5secondstoallowpressuretodissipate.
NOTE:Toabsorbanyresidualfuelthemaybepresentinthefuelhose,placearagortowelaroundthehoseat
theendbeingdisconnected.

areinproperoperatingcondition.Checkthefollowingitems:

1.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey,placetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRAL
position,andchockthewheels.
2.Disconnectbattery.

3.Ifequipped,removeairdeectorfromtopofengine.
4.Ifnecessary,removefueltanktoincreaseaccesstothethrottlebody(1).SeeFuelTankRemoval,Section
21,Page21-23.
5.Cleanthethrottlebody(1)andsurroundingarea(Figure21-3,Page21-6).
6.Disconnectbreatherhose(2)fromairintakeadapter(3).
7.Disconnectgovernorcablefrombracket(4).
8.DisconnectfuelinjectorandMAPsensor.
9.Removespringclampssecuringfuelline(6)andventhose(5)tothrottlebody(1)anddisconnectventhose(5).
10.Disconnectfuelline(6)anddrainintoanappropriatecontainer.SeefollowingWARNING.T emporarilyplug
fuellinetopreventfuelleakage.

•Fuelmaybeunderpressure.Useextremecautionwhendisconnectingfuellinetopreventthesprayof
