Remove the steering stem
[1]
and
lower steel balls (29
balls)
[2].

REPLACEMENT
• Always replace the steel balls and races
as
a set.
Remove the upper bearing outer race [1] using the
following tool.
TOOL:
[2] Ball race remover shaft
07GMD-KS40100
Remove the lower bearing outer race
[1]
using the
following tools.
TOOLS:
[2] Ball race remover, 34.5 mm 07948-4630100 or
07736-A01
OOOB
(U.S.A. only) and a
3/8 x 16 thread
slide
hammer
commercially
available in U.S.A.
[3] Ball race remover shaft 07GMD-KS40100
Remove the dust seal [1] from the steering stem lower
bearing inner race [2].
Remove the lower bearing inner race with a chisel or
equivalent tool being careful not to damage the stem.
Remove the washer
[3]
from the steering stem.
