REAR WHEEL/BRAKE/SUSPENSION

To avoid damage to
the rear shock
absorber mounting
bolt threads, slightly
lift. the rear wheel.

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the following:
- Luggage box (page 2-25)
Lower mounting bolt
[1]
- Upper mounting nut [2]
- Washers
[3]
Rear shock absorber [4]
Installation is in the· reverse order of removal.
TORQUE:
Shock absorber upper mounting nut:
24 N·m (2.4 kgf·m, 18
lbMt)
INSPECTION
Check the damper unit [1] for leakage or other damage. [

Check the shock absorber bushing [2] for wear or
damage.
Replace the shock absorber [3] if necessary.
Check the rear shock absorber mount bushings [1] for
wear or damage.
