Configuring SNMPv3
The access point supports the following SNMPv3 MIBs:
■ Framework
■ Message Processing/Dispatch
■ Community
■ User-Based-Security Model
■ View-Based-Access-Control Model
The web browser interface and the CLI can be used to
■ Enable SNMPv3 on the access point,
■ Create SNMPv3 users,
■ Display current SNMPv3 settings.
Notes ■ The AP-530 does not configure an ‘initial’ user for SNMPv3. If you want to
enable SNMPv3 without first enabling SNMPv1/2c, it will be necessary to
log into the AP-530 using the CLI interface and add an SNMPv3 user
manually (See “CLI: Managing SNMPv3 Users” on page 5-42.)
■ New SNMPv3 users will have read-only access to MIBs. This restriction
remains in place until either a privacy or authentication mode (or typically
both) is assigned to the user.
■ If Privacy Type is specified for an SNMPv3 user, then Authentication Type
must also be specified.
Web: Enabling & Disabling SNMPv3
The SNMP – Settings screen enables SNMPv3 on the access point. The Web
interface enables you to modify the following SNMPv3 parameter:
■ SNMPv3: Enables or disables SNMP version 3. (The default is Disabled.)
■ [Update]: Updates the SNMP settings.
