Adaptive Tx Power Control Use Cases
Use Model: Warehouse Deployment
Use Model: Warehouse Deployment
This use model demonstrates how Adaptive Transmit Power Control works
in physical environments with very high ceilings and remote stations, some of
which are mobile, and how the Adaptive Mode affects RF coverage and
performance in this environment. A warehouse model best demonstrates this
but the scenario is comparable in other deployments with high ceilings, such
as auditoriums.
â– All AP 530s are owned/managed by the warehouse owner.
â– Ceilings are very high, and the APs are mounted either on the ceiling, or
close to the ceiling (high on the walls).
â– The facility contains large structures such as storage shelves that may
extend very high, close to the ceiling.
â– Some clients are mobile, in this case fork-lift trucks that move about the
facility between the storage shelves.
Warehouse Case 1 – Adaptive Mode AP
In this scenario, there are six AP 530s in a Warehouse network: AP1 – AP6.
The configured values in these APs for the parameters that impact Adaptive
Power Control are as follows:
We’ll look at the behavior of in AP1 and AP4 as they are on operating on the
same channel and as such, will be considered in each other’s power control
calculations. Since configurations are the same for all APs, the adaptive
behavior between AP1 and AP4 will be similar to the adaptive behavior
between all AP pairs on the same channel. In this Use Case that will be AP2
interacting with AP5, and AP3 interacting with AP6.
