Adjusting
Brake
Pedal Free Travel
A CAUTION
•
Stop
the
engine
and
chock
the
wheels
before
checking
brake
pedal.
•
The
difference
between
the
right
and
left
pedal
plays
must
be
less
than
4.0
mm
(0.16 in.).
1.
Release the parking brake.
2.
Slightly depress the brake pedals and measure free travel at top
of pedal stroke.
3.
If the measurement
is
not within the factory specifications,
loosen the lock nut and turn the turnbuckle to adjust the brake
rod length.
4.
Retighten the lock nut securely.
Keep the free travel in the right and left brake pedals equal.

•
After
checking
brake pedal free play,
be
sure
to
engage
the
parking
brake
lever
fully
and
check
to
see
that
the
brake
pedals
are
securely
locked.
