[3] DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING
(1) External Components
External Components
1. Remove the DPF muffler (1). (See page 1-S20.)
2. Remove the steering hose support stay (2).
3. Remove the bonnet support stay (3) (if equipped).
4. Remove the engine breather hose (4).
5. Remove the inlet air duct(5).
6. Remove the fan (6) and fan belt (7).
7. Remove the alternator (8) and starter motor (9).
8. Remove the oil separator (10).
(When reassembling)
• Adjust the fan belt tension. (See page 1-S14.)
• Adjust the alternator belt tension. (See page 1-S14.)

(2) Turbocharger and EGR
• While the engine operates or just after it stops, do not touch the hot turbocharger.
• When you remove or install the turbocharger assembly, do not let dust, dirt and other unwanted materials
in the oil pipes.
• After you replace the turbocharger assembly, fill clean engine oil through the oil filter port of the
turbocharger.
• Before you start the engine, make sure that the air cleaner is in the correct position.

Turbocharger
1. Remove the inlet hose (2).
2. Remove the muffler flange (3).
3. Remove the oil pipe (5).
4. Remove the return pipe (4).
5. Remove the turbocharger assembly (1).
(When reassembling)
• Fill clean engine oil through the oil filter port of the turbocharger.
• Replace the gaskets with new ones.
• Do not to let dust, dirt and other unwanted materials in the oil
pipes.
• Put tape or cover on all openings to prevent damage in the
oil holes in the turbocharger by unwanted materials.
