[1] BEARING
Ball Bearing
1. Hold the inner race, and push and pull the outer race in all
directions to check for wear and roughness.
2. Apply transmission fluid to the bearing, and hold the inner race.
Then, turn the outer race to check rotation.
3. If there is any problem, replace it.

Needle Bearing
1. Check the needle bearing for abrasion, color change or other
damage.
2. If there is any doubt as to the condition of a needle bearing,
replace it.

[2] PLANETARY GEAR
Backlash between Internal Gear and Planetary Gear
1. Set a dial indicator (lever type) on the tooth of the planetary
gear.
2. Hold the planetary gear support and move only the planetary
gear to measure the backlash.
3. If the measurement exceeds the allowable limit, check the
planetary gear and planetary shaft.

Thrust Collar Thickness
1. Measure the thickness of the thrust collar.
2. If the measurement is less than the allowable limit, replace it.
