25.6.4 RS-232 CHANNEL
The RS-232 outputs conform to EIA Standard RS-232C with an output voltage swing of at least ±5 V
when driving a standard RS-232 load. This channel is not used in typical G3X installations.
25.6.5 Lighting
The GI 260 display brightness can track either a 28 VDC or 14 VDC lighting bus using these inputs. If left
unconnected, unit will use a photocell to adjust lighting.
25.6.6 Mono Audio
MONO OUT provides audio alerts for connection to an unswitched input on an intercom or audio panel.
AUDIO SHIELD is grounded at the GI 260. If the audio lines in the GI 260 pigtail harness are not long
enough to connect directly to the audio panel, AUDIO SHIELD may be used to splice the shields together
on the audio lines. For other installations, the shields should be spliced together but the audio panel shield
should be left floating (Figure 26-1.6
). Refer to the audio panel installation manual for further guidance on
connecting and terminating the shield.
