6.3.4.3 spanning-tree compatibility
Description
With this command, you configure the compatibility version of the protocol that will be used by
the spanning tree function.
Requirement
You are in the Global Configuration mode.
The command prompt is as follows:
cli(config)#
Syntax
Call up the command with the following parameters:
spanning-tree compatibility {stp|rst|mst}
The parameters have the following meaning:
Parameter Description Range of values / note
stp The version is compatible with the Span‐
ning Tree protocol

rst The version is compatible with the Rap‐
ic Spanning Tree protocol
Default: enabled
mst The version is compatible with the Mul‐
tiple Spanning Tree protocol

Result
The compatibility version of the protocol is selected.
Further notes
With the no spanning-tree compatibility command, you can reset the setting to the
default value rst.
You can display the status of this function and other information with the show spanning
tree detail command.
You can display information about active ports with the show spanning tree active
command.
