Note
Make sure that no wiring is damaged when the windscreen is cut out. If wires are damaged, the windscreen
must be renewed.
– Slide protective foil - V.A.G 1474/19- between windscreen
-1- and dash panel.
– Pull end of cutting cord -2- through adhesive sealant into inside
of vehicle using awl - V.A.G 1474/2- .
– Secure inside end of cutting cord against falling out using pull
handle - V.A.G 1351/1- -3-.
– Insert cutting cord -2- into window flange with aid of tube -1-.
– Place cutting cord along periphery of window.
– Ensure that cutting cord lies under window in corners.
– Secure other end of cord to reel device - V.A.G 1654 A- .
– Position reel device - V.A.G 1654 A- in “position I”.
– Reposition reel device - V.A.G 1654 A- as necessary and cut
window free.
– Use wedge to press cutting cord against window glass while
cutting in order to have clearance at window flange and dash
panel.
