– New special add-on parts may be attached immediately at the
prescribed positions with the adhesive points.
If the body part has been repaired or partially renewed, the area
concerned must be cleaned again after painting.
13.10 Fitting instructions
Note
♦
Gaps/shut lines should be kept to an absolute minimum.
♦
Use adhesive tape to secure add-on parts in position during
minimum curing time.
♦
The surfaces to be bonded must be free from impurities
♦
If no cleanser is named in the repair procedure, use silicone
remover - LSE 020 100 A3- .
– Remove adhesive residue using adhesive remover - D 002
000 10- .
– Clean bonding surface for adhesive tape twice thoroughly us‐
ing cleaning solution and allow to flash-off.
♦ Allow to air dry for approx. 10 minutes.
13.11 Minimum curing period
WARNING
The vehicle is safe to use only after the minimum curing period
has elapsed.
The minimum curing period for newly bonded attachments is 3
hours.
The minimum curing time is the time from bonding the add-on
parts until the vehicle may be used. During this time, the vehicle
must be standing on a level surface at room temperature (at least
15°C).
13.12 Touching up paint damage
Paint structure must be restored according to specifications in the
⇒ “Paint” workshop manual .
13.13 Cleaning guidelines
– Carry out cleaning immediately before installation.
– First, clean the outer metal surface with adhesive remover - D
002 000 10- .
– Then use plastic cleaner - D 195 850 A1- to carefully remove
dirt, grease, wax and other contaminants.
• Always use a clean, lint-free cloth for cleaning.
