1.19 Preparing old undamaged window for
glazing
WARNING
Do not prime bonding surface and do not treat with a cleaning
solution. Keep bonding surface free of dirt and grease.
Do not treat bonding surface with activator immediately after
cutting back.
Note
♦
If re-using an undamaged window, cut back residual adhesive
seal to 1…2 mm, being careful not to damage primer and ce‐
ramic coats.
♦
Remaining material serves as adhesion base for newly ap‐
plied adhesive sealing compound.
WARNING
Exception: if bonding is performed later than one day after cut‐
ting back adhesive bead, the remaining residual material must
be activated with activator .
Apply activator evenly in one stroke using applicator .
The activator must not come in contact with paint, or the paint‐
work will be damaged.
Allow to air dry for approx. 10 minutes.
1.20 Preparing new window without precoat‐
ing for glazing
No replacement windows are precoated.
Note
The application area for the adhesive bead is not precoated or
primed.
– Clean a 20 mm wide strip all around edge of window using
cleaning solution.
– Then rub edge of window dry using a lint-free cloth.
WARNING
Ceramic coating on window is not glass/paint primer! The glass
must be primed before the adhesive sealing material is applied.
Use only glass/paint primer D 009 200 02!
