2.4 Removing gas strut
WARNING
Proceed with care if gas strut is reused. Do not lever spring clip
completely out of ball socket, as it will otherwise be damaged.
Gas strut will spring out of mounting, causing damage or injury
to operator.
– Open rear lid and support it.
– Grip with a small screwdriver beneath spring clips -4 and 5-.
– Raise spring clips -4 and 5- until they can be moved over ball
sockets.
– Pull gas strut off ball-head pin.
After removing gas strut, slide spring clips -4 and 5- back imme‐
diately.
