2.11 Removing and installing striker pin
2.11.1 Removing
– Remove lock carrier cover ⇒ General body repairs, interior;
Rep.
gr. 70 ; Luggage and load area compartment trims; Re‐
moving and installing lock carrier cover (saloon) .
– Remove bolts -2- and remove striker pin -1-.
2.11.2 Installing
– Install striker pin -1-.
– Specified torque for bolts -2-: 18 Nm.
– Adjust striker pin ⇒ page 51 .
The remaining installation steps are carried out in the reverse se‐
quence of removal.
2.12 Adjusting rear lid
Note

Vehicle must be on the ground to carry out rear lid adjustment.
♦
The rear lid lock -3- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. It does not have elongated holes, so it cannot be
adjusted.

The adjusting buffers -2- on the left and right sides cannot be used to adjust the rear lid. Their purpose is to
stabilise and dampen the rear lid -1-.

The rear lid is adjusted correctly if the shut lines are even all around, the door is not too deep or does not
stand proud and all contours align when the rear lid is closed.
♦
The rear lid must engage in the striker pin -3- without excessive force.
