♦ Depending on model variant »R Line« and »Exclusive«.
♦ Cover strip cannot be removed without damage.
♦ Installation of cover strip is described for the left side. Instal‐
lation for the right cover strip is analogous.
5.9.1 Fitting instructions
♦ Warm cover strip with hot air blower - V.A.G 1416- before re‐
moving.
♦ If a trim strip is applied for the first time on a new vehicle and
on newly painted surfaces, the procedure in ⇒ Workshop
manual "Paint" ⇒ Paintwork repairs ⇒ Paint finish ⇒ Mouldings
⇒ Film should be observed.
♦ If a cover strip is removed and reinstalled, only use adhesive
remover - D 002 000 10- to remove the adhesive remains.
♦ Remove existing adhesive residue of adhesive tape using ad‐
hesive strip remover - VAS 6349- .
♦ Ensure that the adhesive surfaces are free of dust and grease.
♦ The cover strip must be bonded in place immediately following
cleaning.
♦ Remove backing only immediately before installation.
♦ Working temperature is approx. 21°C.
♦ Cover strip cannot be removed without damage.
