13 Add-on parts, Passat Alltrack
13.1 Safety requirements
Caution
When removing special add-on parts, use suitable gloves and
protective eyewear.
Do not use cutting wire to remove special add-on parts.
Special add-on parts must cure at least 3 hours after being
bonded before work on the vehicle is continued.

The special add-on parts have been developed to meet the
technical requirements of the relevant models.
♦
These special add-on parts should always be replaced with
the corresponding genuine parts.
♦
Without these special add-on parts, the vehicle will not comply
with the traffic regulations.
13.2 Fitting instructions for add-on parts
Note
♦
The add-on parts are bonded using double-sided adhesive
tape at the factory.
♦
Primer is applied to the attachments by the supplier. The at‐
tachments are delivered with double-sided adhesive tape.
♦
Ensure that protective foil of double-sided adhesive tape re‐
mains free of paint and atomised paint when painting add-on
parts.
