Status Indicator RAPs
009-704 Belt Cleaner RAP
Initial Actions
Open the Fuser Assembly. Check for wear or damage to the Cleaner Cam Followers (PL 8.6).
Ensure that the Belt Cleaner Assembly is installed correctly and freely moves up and down.
Check for obvious damage to the mylar shield or cleaning blade.
Procedure
Reinstall the Belt Cleaner Assembly and Fuser Assembly. Access the Digital Output Test (GP
2). Enter code 66. Listen for an audible click as the Item/Enter button is pressed. The
Cleaner Cam Solenoid energizes.

Remove the Controller Chassis (REP 1.11). Disconnect J19 from the MCU PWB. There
is between 160 and 240 ohms from pin 13 to pin 12 on J19.

There is between 160 and 240 ohms from pin B2 to pin B9 on J71.
YN
Go to Flag 1 and Flag 2. Check for an open circuit. If the wires are OK, replace
the Cleaner Cam Solenoid (PL 8.7).
Go to Flag 3 and Flag 4. Check for an open circuit.
Replace the Cleaner Cam Solenoid (PL 8.7). If the problem continues, replace the MCU
PWB (PL 11.2).
Remove the Fuser Assembly. Rotate the upper-most gear on the Input Bracket Assembly (PL
8.7) clockwise. Both Cleaner Cam Followers raise and lower as the gear is turned.

Check the Input Bracket Assembly and the Cleaner Cam for binding or damage. Clean,
repair or replace as required (PL 8.1, PL 8.6, PL 8.7).
Rotate the gear counterclockwise. Both Cleaner Cam Followers lower and stay in the
down position as the gear is turned.

Check the Input Bracket Assembly and the Cleaner Cam for binding or damage. Clean,
repair or replace as required (PL 8.1, PL 8.6, PL 8.7).
Pull in on the actuator of the Cleaner Cam Solenoid as you rotate the gear counterclockwise.
Both Cleaner Cam Followers raise and lower as the gear is turned.

Check the Input Bracket Assembly and the Cleaner Cam for binding or damage. Clean,
repair or replace as required (PL 8.1, PL 8.6, PL 8.7).
The Belt Cleaner appears to be functioning correctly. Return to the RAP that sent you here.
