Initial Issue
Status Indicator RAPs
010-354 Fuser Temperature Not Detected RAP
The Fuser Temperature cannot be correctly sensed by the Temperature Sensor. A Fuser Tem-
perature error was declared.
Initial Actions
Inspect the Fuser area for debris and other signs of wear, breakage or excessive heat dam-
age.Perform any necessary cleaning or maintenance in the Fuser area. If the problem persists,
continue with this RAP.
Procedure
Ensure that you have performed the Initial Actions above.
If the Fuser area is clean and without apparent damage or excessive wear, proceed by pulling
out Area 5. A resistance of approximately 200k ohms is measured between J71 pin B4
and J71 pin B6 when the Temperature Sensor is at room temperature.
YN
Disconnect P/J72. A resistance of approximately 200k ohms is measured between P
72 pin 2 and pin 4 when the Temperature Sensor is at approximately room tempera-
ture.
YN
Replace the Temperature Sensor (PL 8.2).
Reconnect P/J 72. A resistance of approximately 200k ohms is measured between
J71-B4 and B6 when the Temperature Sensor is at approximately room tempera-
ture.
YN
Go to Flag 1. Check the wiring for an open circuit or a short circuit to ground. Repair
or replace the Fuser Harness (PL 8.5) as required. If the problem persists, replace
the Temperature Sensor (PL 8.2). If the problem still persists, replace the MCU PWB
(PL 11.2).
Go to Flag 2. Check for an open circuit or a short circuit to ground. Repair or replace the
Main Harness (PL 11.1) as required. If the wiring is OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
The problem may be intermittent. Go to Figure 1. Check for loose or damaged connections or
damaged wires. Repair or replace the Fuser Harness (PL 8.5) or the Main Harness (PL 11.1)
as required. If the wiring is OK and the problem persists, replace the Temperature Sensor (PL
8.2). If the problem still persists, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
