Initial Issue
Status Indicator RAPs
011-703 Sorter Transport Jam RAP
Sorter Control PWB logic did not detect paper at the Sorter Path Sensor within a specified time
after the Fuser Exit Sensor detected paper.
Initial Actions
• Check for an obstruction in the Sorter paper path. Repair as required.
• Check for contamination or damage on the Exit Rolls (PL 19.2). Clean or replace as
required.
Procedure
Access the Digital Output (DO) test from the Control Panel. Enter code [CO]. Press the Item/
Enter button. The Sorter Transport Motor runs.
YN
There is +24 VDC between J 1-1 of the Sorter Control PWB and GND.
YN
Replace the Sorter Control PWB (PL 19.1).
Replace the Sorter Transport Motor (PL 19.2).
Check that the Sorter Path Sensor actuator is operating correctly. The actuator is present
and actuating correctly.
YN
Replace the Sorter Path Sensor (PL 19.3).
Actuate the Sorter Path Sensor. There is +5 VDC between J 2-2 of the Sorter Control PWB
and GND.
YN
Go to Flag 2. Check the wires for a short circuit to ground. The wire is good.
YN
Repair the wire.
There is +5 VDC between J 2-1 of the Sorter Control PWB and GND.
YN
Replace the Sorter Control PWB (PL 19.1).
Go to Flag 1. Check for an open circuit. The wires are good.
YN
Repair the wires.
Replace the Sorter Path Sensor (PL 19.3). If the problem persists, replace the Sorter
Control PWB (PL 19.1).
Deactuate the Sorter Path Sensor actuator. There is 0 VDC between J 2-2 and GND
YN
Replace the Sorter Path Sensor (PL 19.3).
Replace the Sorter Control PWB (PL 19.1).
