Removal
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or shock, do not perform repair activities with the power switch
on or electrical power applied to the machine.
1. Switch off the machine power and disconnect the machine Power Cord.
2. Remove the ADF Front Cover and Rear Cover
3. Remove the Document Transport Assembly. (REP 5.7)
4. Remove the ADF Assembly from the scanner. (REP 5.1)
5. Remove the Feeder Lower Cover. (Figure 1)

6. Remove the left Counterbalance. (REP 5.3)
7. Remove the ADF Registration Roll Drive Pulley/Gear (Figure 2)

Remove the two retaining screws, then
remove the Feeder Lower Cover
Feeder Lower Cover

Loosen screws,
and raise the
Idler Pulley
2
Reduce the belt tension,
and disengage the Belt
from the Pulley/Gear
3
Remove the E-Clip, Pulley/Gear and washer
